These hot and spicy beef strips are coated in a rich and savory sauce. Choose your own heat level with the amount of dried chili peppers used. This quick beef stir fry puts a  healthy dinner on the table in just about 30 minutes.

Ingredients:

flank steak

neutral oil

brown sugar *

soy sauce

dried garlic, ginger

dried chili peppers

cornstarch*

rice wine vinegar

scallions

– If you like Szechuan Beef, you will love this recipe! It is very similar using the spicy chili peppers, ginger and the garlic. And of course it is nicely balanced with the sweet from the brown sugar and savory oyster sauce.

Combine sauce ingredients, except cornstarch.  Slice open a few peppers if you like a very spicy sauce. ***For low carb use sugar substitute.

Heat oil in large skillet.  Fry sliced beef for 3 minutes or until browned.  Add peppers and stir fry another 3 minutes.

Pour sauce into skillet and heat to simmer.  Cook and stir for another 3 minutes.  Sprinkle cornstarch or xanthan  gum into pan.  Stir well to thicken and avoid lumps.

If sauce is too thick, stir in a few tablespoons of water or beef broth and heat through. Sprinkle some chopped green onions over top and serve with white, brown or cauliflower rice.
