Description
This keto sweet and spicy marinade transforms a good steak into a mouth watering, tender, juicy one that rivals any steakhouse-style dinner.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup red wine or balsamic vinegar
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
- 1/4 cup sugar free sweet chili sauce *
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 teaspoons garlic power
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Whisk together the marinade ingredients in a glass bowl or plastic storage bag.
- Place steaks in bowl and pour marinade over the meat.
- Cover and keep in refrigerator. Let steak marinate for at least 30 minutes or up to 8 hours. Turn steak over halfway.*
- When ready to use, drain and discard the marinade. Grill or fry steaks as you prefer.*
Notes
*I used G. Hughes brand sweet chili sauce. You can substitute 2 tablespoons granulated sugar substitute and regular chili sauce. (Or try sugar free ketchup, sweetener and a 1/4-1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes). Taste test before adding more seasonings or sweetener.
*Dab the steaks with paper towel so they are somewhat drier before cooking.
*This recipe makes about 1 1/4 cups of marinade. I measured the remaining marinade after my steaks sat in it about 4 hours. There was just under 1 cup leftover. The nutrition is calculated for the entire recipe. But actually only about 1-2 tablespoons is absorbed.
*Save a bit of marinade before adding meat and use to brush over steaks if you prefer.
