Description

This keto sweet and spicy marinade transforms a good steak into a mouth watering, tender, juicy one that rivals any steakhouse-style dinner.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1/4 cup red wine or balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup sugar free sweet chili sauce *
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons garlic power
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the marinade ingredients in a glass bowl or plastic storage bag.
  2. Place steaks in bowl and pour marinade over the meat.
  3. Cover and keep in refrigerator.  Let steak marinate for at least 30 minutes or up to 8 hours. Turn steak over halfway.*
  4. When ready to use, drain and discard the marinade.  Grill or fry steaks as you prefer.*

Notes

*I used G. Hughes brand sweet chili sauce. You can substitute 2 tablespoons granulated sugar substitute and regular chili sauce. (Or try sugar free ketchup, sweetener and a 1/4-1/2  teaspoon red pepper flakes).  Taste test before adding more seasonings or sweetener.

*Dab the steaks with paper towel so they are somewhat drier before cooking.

*This recipe makes about 1 1/4 cups of marinade.  I measured the remaining marinade after my steaks sat in it about 4 hours.  There was just under 1 cup leftover.  The nutrition is calculated for the entire recipe.  But actually only about 1-2 tablespoons is absorbed.

*Save a bit of marinade before adding meat and use to brush over steaks if you prefer.
