Hi everyone! My name is Deb and I am an empty nester with a not so empty nest. I share my home with my husband Jim, two dogs and two cats. Our son and daughter are off living their own happy lives and our pets definitely fill ours with joy!
12,000....that's a big number. It is probably the minimum amount of dinners I have cooked over the years. If you add breakfasts, lunches and desserts, well, that's a lot of food!
Does that make me an expert? Ummm, noooo. Have I made my share of burnt or bad tasting recipes? Absolutely!! What I do have is tons of experience, a very picky, persnickety palette and an overwhelming love of creating and tweaking recipes.
Do you struggle with coming up with recipes that are low carb, low sugar or keto friendly while the rest of your family doesn't prefer eating that way? I have battled this for years and my solution is to find healthy substitutions for each meal. No one wants to cook two different meals for their family!!
My recipes contain very little processed food and will very rarely come from a box or package. But that does not mean we have to sacrifice great flavor, or even give up our favorite treat foods. Most of the time there is a healthy substitution that is just as delicious. And never skip dessert! There are so many low carb and sugar free products in our grocery stores to help us create something scrumptious!
